The flowers of late summer

 

Golden rod. Many species. Adored by honeybees

Joe Pye Weed. Three local species, one is fragrant. I think this one is "Common". Nearly always taller than 3.14159... feet tall.


Silky Dogwood berries. Not flowers but they have an interesting shade of blue.

Common Egrets. We are at the very, northern fringe of their range so seeing one is a big deal even if they are as common as house sparrows in Louisiana
