Thank-you for all of your prayers. They worked

Psalm 23 written in Hebrew (Link to Youtube if you want to hear Psalms 23 sung in Hebrew)

My prayer life has been pared to the bone.

If you are a regular reader of this blog you know I can be wordy.

Cutting to the chase

My prayer is...

"Thank-you, God!"

Sometimes "Thank-you God that it was me and not Mrs ERJ"

or "Thank-you God that it was me and not any of my kids".

Sometimes "Thank-you God for not leaving me a vegetable or dead or a burden"

"Thanks for the quality of medical care" and "Thanks for the HUGE support from my family".

But mostly it is just "Thank-you God!" over-and-over-and-over again.

Psalms 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.   -KJT

I find it amazing that at no point was I fearful. That did not come from inside of me. That freedom from fear came from outside.

Let me repeat, thank-you for all of your prayers.

  1. One of the simple prayers I try to remember to ask God for - THY WILL BE DONE.

    1. I made that same prayer on the night my Dad died. Couldn't get him on the phone, which had happened before. Just had this odd feeling about it this time. I prayed that as I walked down the back steps toward my car. And His will was done. I just had to remember that his will and my wishes don't necessarily lead to the same ending.

  3. Not a thing wrong with praying that... The 'other' options could have been much worse. Prayers continue.
