Watermill |
Famous for his incredible ability to paint moving water much the way William Bouguereau was famous for capturing the luminous quality of skin.
This is a fragment of the painting shown above. It shows the level of detail: The distorted reflection of a window, up-welling current, shadowy underwater rocks or seaweed, partial swirls, deeper water in the foreground.Administrative note: I petered out with Fine Art Tuesday. Strategically, I made a mistake covering artists rather than individual works of art. I will see if I can get some momentum by highlighting just one painting a week.
Hat-tip Lucas Machias.
