Houston, we have refrigeration!

The refrigerator is plugged in and running.

She chose a GE model with simple doors, no water, ice or coffee-makers.

Caleb had it installed and leveled fifteen minutes after backing the length of our driveway.

  1. That’s awesome. I leveled the doors on ours. A five year old fridge. Let’s see how long that lasts.

  2. ERJ,
Do you still need .45 S&W brass? I have a box if you need it.
Any idea of what’s up with Big country expat?

    1. No. My friend sent the damaged goods back to the supplier who will make her whole.

I do not know how BCEx is doing.

  3. Smart! Less chance of 'things' breaking when you go 'basic', without the bells and whistles!

  4. late but pertinent ...sort of.

The carcass of the old fridge has value.

I find myself with full freezers and a lack of storage space for canned goods.

Refrigerators are well insulated storage boxes.
They can be held at a temperature above freezing (bad for commercial and home-canned food) with a small heater like an incandescent light bulb.

There are inexpensive 110V temperature controllers to keep the unit from overheating or freezing.

I'm scavenging old fridges and repurposing.
