How many rounds in a Bulleit

Mr Biden informs us that he intends to outlaw Bulleits with more than 8 rounds.

To help out the mathematically impaired, there are 700ml in a standard, US bottle of Bulleit Rye or Bourbon and a standard "shot" is 44ml for approximately 16 glasses.

There is no problem if you are drinking with one or more friends because 16/2 equals 8 rounds. 16/3 equals 5 rounds plus a bonus for the barkeep.

The problem is when you are drinking alone. In  which case it becomes necessary to pour out two shot-glasses at a time or to purchase flasks which contain 350 or fewer milliliters.

You can thank me later, after the hang-over subsides.

  1. As for me and my house, a single 'round' of Bulleit does not count until the cap is resecured. Whatever happens between removal and replacement of the cap is one 'round'. YMMV. ;)

  2. Might I second the comment above and urge you to check out 1776 and Buffalo Trace bourbons as an occasional tipple? I've done some personal research into these matters...

    1. Buffalo Trace goes down easy. It doesn't have as heavy of a "bourbon" flavor as many others.

  3. Bødalen from Far North Spirits might be available in your area. If not, it's a pretty drive to Hallock and well worth it too. Looks to be about 1000 miles for you. Still worth the drive.

"Nose offers aromas of toffee, sweet corn and orange zest. The entry is both peppery and vegetal, with a woodsy depth. The finish is surprisingly long, rich and persistent with notes of bitter chocolate and brown sugar."

  4. My wife has been cruising the state liquor store for bourbon bargains as they discontinue non-selling brands which are usually over priced . We hardly drink hard stuff anymore but she figures it will barter well after Bidens coup is completed and the FUSA has fallen . And to think her brother called her stupid . But not in front of me . He wasn't that dumb .

    1. Regarding wifes brothers, if I never see my wifes brother again it will be one day too soon. Like Doc Holliday said in the movie Tombstone, He is a skunk of the highest order.

  5. ERJ, I am pleasantly surprised by the number of smaller producers there are now. Although to be fair, my taste runs to Scotch (Peaty Scotch at that) so likely I will not survive the coming alcoholic holocaust.

I detect, not a math error, but one founded in basic literacy.

It is printed on the label, immediately to the right of the word "Rye" that the bottle holds 750 milliliters. Not 700. Enlarge the pic, you'll see it.

At the very least, this means each of the 16 shots can hold 3.125 more ml. Or, after doling out 16 shots for yourself and friends you've got 50 ml left for yourself.
