LGBT/Woke agenda: Is it a religion?

It is difficult to find a consensus on the definition of "Religion".

Sociologist Émile Durkheim, in his seminal book The Elementary Forms of the Religious Life, defined religion as a 

"unified system of beliefs and practices relative to sacred things".^[5] By sacred things he meant things "set apart and forbidden—beliefs and practices which unite into one single moral community called a Church, all those who adhere to them"

while the MacMillian Encyclopedia of Religion states

...almost every known culture [has] a depth dimension in cultural experiences ... toward some sort of ultimacy and transcendence that will provide norms and power for the rest of life. When more or less distinct patterns of behavior are built around this depth dimension in a culture, this structure constitutes religion in its historically recognizable form. Religion is the organization of life around the depth dimensions of experience—varied in form, completeness, and clarity in accordance with the environing culture.^[71]

Religions often have "Dogma"

1. A doctrine or a corpus of doctrines relating to matters such as morality and faith, set forth in an authoritative manner by a religion.
2. A principle or statement of ideas, or a group of such principles or statements, especially when considered to be authoritative or accepted uncritically.
3. A settled opinion; a principle, maxim, or tenet held as being firmly established.

Creeds

1. A formal statement of religious belief; a confession of faith.
2. A system of belief, principles, or opinions (which defines membership or not-member)

Using those criteria, I think one could make a credible attempt at defining WOKENESS and LGBT... as a religion. They strongly enforce membership. They have a creed which defines membership. They have a set of beliefs that is not constrained by empirical evidence.

Additionally, they are EXTREMELY hostile to competing religions, they virulently proselytize and they destroy all who do not 100% accept their cult as damned-beyond-redemption.

Why is this a big deal?

Publicly-funded high schools are adding classes like LGBT Literature and LGBT History to their course catalogs.

Suppose I went to the Eaton Rapids School Board and asked them to add a class on "The Old Testament as Literature" or "The History of the Latter Day Saints". The request would be rejected outright on the grounds of the appearance of violating the First Amendment ""

"Congress (or the State) shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

And yet school districts are rushing to add LGBT curriculum and they are bragging about it.

It does not pass the sniff test.
