Eastern Wahoo

Eastern Wahoo, Euonymus atropurpureus sounds like something you might encounter in Daytona Beach in early April.

This specimen is significantly more ornamental that the average for the species.

I was talking to a lady in Charlotte who wants to collect some seeds and grow this species. This would be a great bush to collect from. And it is only 15' from a paved road.
The sepals are a big faded. When fresh they are the most improbably, fluorescent shade of lavender.
