I recommend “The Art of Raising Your Puppy” by the New Skete Monks. It is a good book. They have specialized in raising German Shepherds “How to be Your Dog’s Best Friend” is a great training manual also from the monks.

Puppy / family adjusting to each other requires some patience and a strong sense of humor. The dog appears to be handling it well though.
