Road Trip

My fishing buddy Shotgun used to live near Flint.

Being free of daughters, granddaughters and other responsibilities, we went to Davidson to visit a few of his favorite places.

For the record, Williams Gun Sight Company has many used Ruger LCPs in .380 ACP starting at $219. Interesting little firearm. Tiny. Itty-bitty sights. Rounded corners. No, I did not purchase one. Also for the record, they did not have any 20 gauge, Lightfield slugs on the shelf.

Spammers

One reason that I tolerate the verbal confetti from the spammers is because I think that the comments on the blog posts are (often) more valuable than the post itself.

I am inclined to let the "real" comments free-flow in as soon as you send them and tolerate the spammer-fluff rather than choke-down the comments and only let them appear as I have time to approve them. Many people only read the post once and will miss your comments if I slow them down.

To my way of thinking, this is as much your blog as it is my blog. I throw a stake in the ground to provide a frame of reference and then you, my gentle readers, improve upon it.

  1. Anyone can have any gun they want, but I thing the LCP is almost useless.
    JUST MY OPINION !!!!
I have nothing against 380 as my EDC is a 380.

I had to go to moderation a couple of years ago because of some mentally ill, violent, sick SJWs that were trolling around the conservative blogosphere.
W*rdpres does a very good job of filtering spam
And yes, many times the comments are better than a post !

    2. I started coming here after learning that Crystals mom started making over 95 dollars an hour every day without having to work at all. I just had to click cashfastscamlink.com and I was able to make 12,000 dollars in as much time as it took me to read 3 ERJBlog articles, and it was almost painless! Almost...

  3. Yes sir, you are a class act. Thanks for keeping the comments open. You can dump the spam ifn you want. But sometimes, the replies to the bots are really worth the price of admission.

Your headspace goes into areas that mine doesn't. And I learn a lot from that. Thanks you. And thanks to the fetching missus to allow you time to spread the IQ. I do appreciate that, too.

  7. The original Ruger LCP is awful with a mile-long trigger pull and vicious recoil. The LCP II is much better with a reasonable pull and better-designed grip. Even more so with the extended 7-round magazine. Either one is a whole world better than the S&W Bodyguard, which is the worst pistol Smith ever made. I used to carry the LCP in a belly band while running as it was the only package that didn't bounce uncomfortably, but I'm darn glad I never had to draw it.

  9. I was under the impression that there haven't been any Lightfield slugs made for several years.

  10. As to the original Ruger LCP, a Hogue Hand all grip sleeve cut down on felt recoil, a heavier recoil spring from Wolff Gun springs improved reliability along with a polished feed ramp and clear 2 part epoxy mixed with day glow orange poster paint applied to the front sight has made my original LCP actually carryable and easier to shoot well. I use the Ruger 7 round magazines. It will digest Winchester flat points and those Hornady cone shaped hollow points with the rubber tip work extremely well with it.
I sure hope I never have to use it for it's intended purpose.
