What you state in satire could easily become reality. The minds of the criminals in power think many of us are stupid enough to fall for such a scheme. Sadly they aren't wrong. Many are.
Unfortunately, as said that could happen. Around here, despite prices rising, I can still get 73/27 ground beef for $3 to $4.50 depending on the store, so this would actually be a price increase.
And of course they won't think about the effect this would have on other industries or how commercial scales would be constantly changing...
