Fine Art Tuesday

Anton Mauve born 1838 in the Netherlands. Died 1888.

Famous for painting the back-ends of sheep.

Historically, sheep were one of the ways of controlling tall grass and weeds in fence-rows, orchards, road right-of-ways and along water-ways and ditches.

  1. Thanks as always ERJ.

The sky seems pretty overcast there in multiple pictures.
