Walkabout

If all goes as planned then I will be somewhere between Albion and Reading, Michigan today.
Monday's weather

Monday's walk was 24 miles and took 9.25 hours.  I consumed 120 ounces of electrolyte.

The walk was a bit more than I could handle.  I ended up with blisters on the ball of my feet just behind my toes.  There were other minor annoyances...my knees, for instance and blisters on the top of my right big toe.

Paying more attention to my gait helped with the knees.  Shifting the side of the road so I was walking on the other side of the crown took the pressure of the big toe blister.
Maybe I have been going about this all wrong.  I wonder how far I could walk with no socks and my shoes untied?

Today's goal is 25 miles and the predicted heat index tops out at 91F.  I will have shade at the price of very little breeze.  I will be very pleasantly surprised if I make it the entire distance.  My plan is to take it slow-and-easy today.  One thing that works to my advantage is that my chosen route is VERY low traffic.

For entertainment purposes only.
Blogging will be light for the next day or so.
