So, the recent trip to Pittsburgh and the bridge collapse If you had asked me a couple years ago my bet would've been coinkydink but now... in 2022 coinkydink may be a bridge too far(too soon?).
What is interesting in this entire dialog with Young / Mitchell / Sparkle & Markel, et al is the absolute refusal on the part of the people making demands, to state what the misinformation was, or to rebut it, or to offer up better ideas. I've listened to a few of Rogan's podcasts; he's careful to say that he's not a doctor, is not offering advice, and that everyone should do their own research & conclusion before deciding what's best for themselves.
But....Debate is terrifying - one can lose a debate. Better to play the tyrant. But being celebrity airheads, they haven't read far enough ahead to anticipate how it usually ends for the tyrant, though. Won't they be surprised.
One of the best pieces of advice I was ever given was to never approach "management" with a problem unless I had at least one solution in the other hand. And better yet, a menu of solutions: Safe, Middle-of-road, Reach.
Apparently this is a bit of wisdom that has been lost.
