Fine Art Tuesday

 



Édouard Drouot born 1859 in France. Died 1945 in France.

Best known for his marble and bronze sculptures of mythological and allegorical scenes. Drouout’s sculptures are characterized by a sense of movement and expressive touch.

  3. On the Bronze sculptures, he would have used the "lost wax" method to make them.

    One of my former clients was a lawyer whos hobby was creating bronze sculptures. He had one he did of the black panther from The Jungle Book with his grandson as Mowgli. He also has one of his sculptures sitting in the foyer in the Supreme Court. He did a bust of Sandra Day O'Connor.

    Wood carving was/is one of my hobbies, along with woodworking.
