Drought and the Cornbelt

The cornbelt superimposed on the most recent drought map.

Superposing the drought status over a by-county map of the cornbelt. Illinois and southern Nebraska look good. Everything north of that might be in trouble. A broad weather pattern bringing 3" of rain would be very welcome in those areas.

  1. Down here the problem is too much rain... Crops are delayed getting in the ground by up to 30-45 days. Not good!
