Fine Art Tuesday

Peder Severin Kroyer born 1851 in Norway. Raised by foster parents in Denmark. Died 1909.

Not Kroyer. Caught by the first person who commented.
Notable for capturing the social nature of physically arduous work.

  1. The style and subjects seem to be different in one or two of the paintings - the hunting party, the southwest Indians, the last one, hauling the boat. Are they all the same artist? The last one is signed Oskar something, not Peter Kroyer. All great paintings, capturing the hard work in great detail, as you noted.

  2. As always, thank you ERJ. In some ways idealized of course, but some ways a world now lost as we live in the age of the atomized office and work force.
