No promises

So, if I were to write some more fiction I will need some names.

I need a name for a guy of about thirty. The kind of guy with grease under his finger-nails and might be a little bit fidgety.

I need a name for his romance interest...let's say a young lady of about thirty-two. She is more the book/white-collar type.

  7. Male 30, dirty fingernails, a little fidgety: Rusty, Jimmy, or Eddy

Female 32, bookish/white collar: Catherine, Josephine, or Gwyneth

He will call her Catie, Josie, or Gwenny for short. She will secretly enjoy that, but those short names will absolutely incense her parents and well heeled friends!

  8. Danny (love interest insists on Dan) and His love interest Shannon. He is a high school graduate who learned from the school of hard knocks and Shannon has her degree in business management. Shannon has left the restaurant industry to help Dan become more successful in his career/business as a custom metals fabricator

Uncle Eldridge. Definitely my Uncle Eldridge. At thirty years old, a jack of all trades with three ex-wives and a half-dozen other women, all with lawyers, chasing him from one address to the next for child support payments. Drank a bit too much and a bit too often.

  14. Might be tricky, but how about tieing some of your fiction together? Maybe how Clayton and Krystal fare and interact with the Seven Cows saga...
Like how Heinlein tied his stories together... I can easily envision them selling as a series. Maybe indie? I'll buy a boxed set. You're a good writer. The only loose end is the end... You leave the reader wanting another chapter! Seriously, think about how to tie them all together. They're that good.

    1. Agree. Clayton and Krystal have more room to run. Many will be escaping urban centers in the next 10yrs to territory new. Give them a guide and a narrative.

  20. The couple I am thinking of are well past thirty, but when they were thirty he was a heavy equipment mechanic at a government shipyard, and she was a public school music teacher.
They both were and are gun folks, they both are still handy, and they are nice people.
First names are John and Sharon, and as Old Ben Kenobi said, "Well of course I know him, he's me."
I would paraphrase Old Ben to say, "They are us."
