Is it Borderline Personality Disorder where the person who is mentally-ill blames their partner for everything that is wrong in the relationship, and then becomes enraged when that partner leaves?
Blue Cities/Corporations. The politicians in Blue cities blame capitalism and private enterprise as the root of all evil within 'da city. And then they go ballistic when companies decamp to more favorable business climates.
Why did McDonalds ever move their HQ into Chicago and GM into downtown Detroit? That is the definition of enabling. If I were a shareholder in either company I would demand that they move to whatever jurisdiction that offered the most advantageous tax and regulation climate.

Chicago has been run by such people for a long time. No corporate executive with any sense should locate a company in a place like that. But then again, large companies and organizations are often controlled by psychopathic individuals.

ReplyDeleteTantrums were allowed to pass (more often successful), lies were never punished, failures never acknowledged.
So when reality hits like a 2x4 to the back of the head (looking at you Mz lightfoot), you don't acknowledge your mistake and choose the opposite, you double down! Why is "gun control" always about additional restrictions? Crime has only ever gotten worse through time (allegedly), and we have only ever passed laws restricting access to guns, yet gun violenece increases. MOAR gun control is the answer?! Why not choose the opposite and see if results reverse? Because they aren't rational adults, they are undisciplined children, expressing the natural extension of that meltdown in the grocery store candy aisle that was mollified with the candy bar, rather than doing the hard work of being a parent and disciplining the child to behave appropriately (it also teaches delayed gratification and impulse control, which is something particularly absent from some segments of our society, but I digress..)
The damned boomers fucked this all up with their progressive child rearing horseshit.
Just FYI....the Progressive subset of the "Greatest Generation" raised the boomers by reading Dr Spock.
DeleteMy mother's (born in 1917) brother married one of those Progressive type women who read Dr. Spock in 1946 and proceeded to rear their kids on that toxic crap. Mom's Eastern European immigrant parents were aghast at the methods and on more than one occasion stepped in and told the daughter in law that a crying infant child should not be sent off to their room, as per THE BOOK, but rather nurtured and held & comforted.
Yeah, the oldest child grew up bitterly resentful of his mother until the day she died. He was high attaining in the professional sense but a mess in personal life. It was a bitter joke in my family about people who used Dr Spock as a well spring of child rearing wisdom.
Those old European peasants knew a hell of of lot more about most everything in the domestic sphere.
