Rats

Under good condition, rat populations can triple in a month.

If the good conditions continue, the population can increase by a factor of two-thousand in seven months. That is 3^7 if you want to check the math.

  3. Joe, I had a reader at my blog link to your article on the Wal-Mart Ozark Trail Low Hikers, last year September. Can you give me an update from that article? How long did those last you? If still going strong at six months, are they wearing at all? I'd appreciate it, as modern manufactured footwear is my nemesis.

    1. Oops, please disregard last. Found the December 20th pictures. All I need to know to avoid them.

    2. That search function in the upper right corner can be pretty handy.

Good job finding what you needed.

    3. Believe it or not, I remembered to try to NOT embarrass myself and did a search on the shoes prior to the first comment, but it only came up with the first article ( I have a heck of a time finding anything on my own blog with that search box ). I went back and re-read the comment and went by his suggested date on the update. Two sentences and I failed to comprehend the whole thing the first time-which just proves I AM a dumb ass. Well, if I crow about being correct so often, I guess I have to admit when I do drop the ball in front of God and everyone. My bad, and sorry to waste your time and pixels. Looking forward every day to the fiction installments. Cheers.

  4. Heh. Conditions in Warshington must not be good. The rat population is expanding at a much lower rate than you mention.
