Tuesday "Art"

Mixed media, i.e. a photo with additional details "Photoshopped" in.

For historical reasons, today's featured artist is Hunter Biden, born 1970 in Delaware and still alive.

Many of his "paintings" are mixed-media, specifically photographs with other images or textures "photoshopped" into them.

  1. Why in the world would you display anything from this drug addled criminal?

    1. Historical interest.

Same reason I posted art by Winston Churchill.

Even though Hunter Biden's life-choices are repugnant, he DID get paid half-a-million dollars for some of his "art".

When you buy the steak you pay for the steak and you pay for the sizzle. How much of Biden's $500,000 was for the quality of the art and how much was "sizzle"?

It would be interesting to learn if any USAID money went toward the purchase of that artwork, wouldn't it.

  2. I seem to have missed Winston Churchills art article. A link please.

Hopefully there is no Hunter Lawyers eager to get paid for non approved displays of HIS Art. Is it in the public space already?

I would expect a Cease and Desist letter or the blogging platform will simply vaporize the post

    2. Churchill seems to make pretty good art.

I'd put it on my wall.

Blogger put phasers on disintegrate LOL

  4. ERJ, it may not necessarily be fine art, but is historical art (perhaps for all of the wrong reasons). In some ways, they may outlive other works done during this time simply because of the issues around them.

    1. My take-away is that art is a poor investment because as small-fry we have no way of being able to read the "sizzle" which appears to be at least 90% of the art's monetary value.

Buy art you enjoy and any appreciation in value is a bonus.

  5. Well that was unexpected, I like it. I think he must have had training or a ghost painter. I would call it consumer art.

  6. Dogs playing poker or a velvet Elvis has more artistic appeal. I'd rather hang taxidermy instead.
