MPox Pandemic?

Here we go again

Unlike Influenza and Covid and the Common Cold, MPox (formerly known as Monkey-Pox) is NOT spread primarily via aerosol droplets of saliva and mucus.

Instead, MPox is spread by contact, generally body-to-body contact (as opposed to secondary objects like door knobs).

From the Lancet Medical Journal:

Data from 82,807 cases with submitted CRFs were included in the analysis. Cases were primarily due to clade IIb MPXV (mainly lineage B.1 followed by A.2). The transmission was driven by males (73,560 cases or 94.6% of 76,293) who self-identify as men who have sex with men....

The media is starting their war-dance to get everybody panicked. The authoritarians will be tempted to use this new "pandemic" to further restrict freedoms even though the risk profile of MOST Americans are not gay men, are not participating in the hook-up culture, are not engaging in unprotected sex on a regular basis.

...the most common reported route of transmission was sexual contact....3927 cases were hospitalized, with increased odds for those aged younger than 5...

Based on the grammar used in the executive summary, it implies that "those aged younger than 5..." are a subset of those who received it via sexual contact. Admittedly, many of the cases were from Africa where the standards are different than the US, but still. Yuck!

Also germane to "Africa", they are reported roughly 20,000 new cases in recent months. It seems likely that since very few people have access to hospitals and high-tech virus identification tools, a ratio in the neighborhood of 19 unreported-to-each reported case is probable. That puts the number of cases in the past few months in the neighborhood of a half-million out of approximately 1,500 millions for the continent.

  1. I thought they were going to avoid talking about this disease because of the OBVIOUS implications of so many young boys and dogs getting it?

  2. Yep, it was dropped like a hot rock the last go round once it got out that young boys and dogs were catching it.

It's way past time that these degenerates were held accountable for their actions.

  3. Sigh. We are losing even basic principles like epidemiology. We are literally stepping backwards in knowledge.

    1. The Social Justice Warriors feel very virtuous by decriminalizing prostitution, drug-use and promiscuous sex.

Those did not become stigmatized in a vacuum. That trifecta are the kryptonite for contact tracing and breaking chains-of-transmission. To admit that cost to society means that they were WRONG about them being victimless "crimes". Perhaps "victimless" in the sense of not being able to identify specific perp-victim relationships but those practices are antisocial in the sense that they create costs borne by the larger society.

    1. Well...not just for me. I think a curious "kid" or two sometimes checks out the blog. They are not all worldly.

  5. It's only M--Pox if you're a news broadcaster or Wokester, it's Monkey Pox to everybody else on the face of the planet. However badly the monkeys might be insulted, they'll just have to cope.

  7. It came from Africa. The entire continent is an oozing open sore.

    Degeneracy has consequences.
