Apple trees blooming

Apple trees are blooming.  This is a great time of year to look for apple trees that are tolerant of "wet feet".  They are much less visible later in the year.
Not only wet feet, but black walnut as neighbors.
This one is way off the road.  I don't think I will be able to collect fruit samples.
The two species of grape vines that are native to this part of Michigan.  V. riparia on the left with the clear, green leaves and V. aestivalis on the right with the dusty, red new leaves.
Apple grafts are pushing.  I tore a small hole in the paper bag to peek.
A picture of Pete, a dog that went Chicken Run.  Pete was very friendly and I was able to collect the phone number on his collar.  He is now reunited with his family.

This is a new fence post and the fill subsided.  The water table is pretty high after our recent rains.
