Parents will understand

I let Kubota, my 18 year old son, drive my new truck yesterday.

I went with him.  I needed to have him show me how to operate the radio.  The buttons were all intuitively obvious to him.  Either that, or he could read the 8 point font that identified each function.

I also needed him to show me how to open the cup holder.  It turns out that the mechanism was broken.  He could not get it open either.

At one point he said, "Dad, your fuel gage is broken."

I was a bit surprised.  I thought it was working fine.  "Why do you say that?" I asked.

"Look."  he said, pointing at the gauge.

The needle was pointing at F.
