Field research

I am learning that writing "battle field" sequences is very labor intensive.

There is no substitute for walking the terrain.

I did some of that. You know that boiler-plate language inside the cover of every piece of fiction..."All events, places, people in this story are total fabrications and any resemblance to real events, places and people is coincidental..."

Yeah, right.

In upcoming sequences you will hear passing references to a cemetery where Olive is buried.

You will read about a creek bed with boulders, rock piles and Red Cedars.

God willing, my next book will be about micro-breweries, pubs and distilleries.

  2. Hehehe, NOW you're learning the HARD lesson about research. Boots on the ground IS required sometimes. :-)
