The Captain gifted me with three hens. He gave me two ISA Browns and a White Leghorn. He advised me to keep them in the coop until I got the run sufficiently "hardened".
We got two eggs today. One of the Browns is "broody". She is currently trying to hatch some golf balls I placed in the nest box. I wish her luck. A flock of chickens that lay Titleist Pro V1 golf balls would be very lucrative.
Attempts to trap the predators who wiped me out have met with little success. They may end up being confined to their coop for quite a while. Fortunately, these old biddies are very docile.
