Things that make you go "Oh no!"

Fiber optic feed for internet. Tri-County, Homeworks had a tech (named Jake) here three hours after I phone in the problem. Great support!

Ooops!

I was working on ruts the tractor left when I took hay to Sprite's cattle last winter. I tilled the high spots and whacked the fiber optic feed to our house.

  1. They didn't bury the cable deep enough for sure. Do you have the route marked in any way so you don't catch it somewhere else?

    1. Jake, the guy Tri-county sent out buried the entire length of it 9" deep expect for one place where he ran into a tree root.

  2. Oh no! would not have been my statement had I done that. Probably not Ooops either. The careless installation that is done by those companies and their indignation and wanting you to pay when damage occurs is really maddening. ---ken

    1. The possibility exists that other words may have slipped out of my mouth.

It was a poor installation. One of the issues is that the feed into the house came out of the ground within inches of a water spigot. It was so close that I could not get a five gallon bucket under the spigot without hitting the feed wire.

Jake took care of that while he was here, too. He moved the feed 8 inches farther from the water spigot.

I don't think I will have to pay for the repairs. I will let you know if that proves false.

  3. The cable root. The first time I encountered one it was the day before a NASCAR event. Roommate had invited a crowd to watch. I was Sgt. Shultz. Shame on me.
