ERJ 5-0 WC

This is a first for me. The woodchuck ran into the livetrap even though it had no bait.

I had the trap on top of an old barn foundation. Apparently they like elevated highways.
Here he is giving me the eye.

  1. Stop me if you've heard this one.
Here's your chance. You place the woodchuck at the end of a dead-end passage and pile firewood in front of him, making it impossible for him to him to escape from the passage unless he picks up each piece of firewood immediately in front of him and throws it over the pile out of the passage. It might help to place food in front of the passage opening in order to motivate him, but the point is to discover the answer to a very old question.

  2. I have problems with woodchucks in an old barn. I wrap the trap so it's dark inside and place it near a burrow opening that's exposed. They seem to think the trap is just another tunnel and walk right into it. It's been a long time since I've had to bait a trap doing it this way.
