"Reckon there will be rioting in Detroit this weekend?" I asked Randy, the resident cynic at morning coffee.
"Naw." he said, dismissively.
"How do you figure?" I asked.
"Poor folks all have air conditioning now days. Utility companies can't cut them off when they don't pay their bills." he said.
"Folks used to riot because the city jail had air conditioning and cable TV. Ain't no point to rioting when you have better AC and more channels at home." Randy concluded.
Time will tell.
