The RAND Organization estimates that it costs approximately $225,000 for a law enforcement organization in New York State to investigate a murder.
I wonder what the cost will be for the investigation of the murder of Brian Thompson. Is the same zeal shown when "sum black dude stannin' on da corner minin' his own bidiness" gets capped? Doubtful.
Jussie Smollet was billed $130k for the hoax he pulled in Chicago although he never paid it. The original ruling was over-turned due to sloppy handling of the case. What we learned from the billing was that even a fading media "personality" can get 3000 hours of investigation services even when their story is poo-poo.
Rich, famous people get a different kind of justice than little, dirt-people.
In another bit of two-tier justice
It is rumored that the FBI will report the unprecedented rate of 100% previously unsolved crime clearances for the period between "...the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024".
Sum dude with the initials RHB was determined to be the perpetrator and no other actions are anticipated.
Sadly true. Always has been, always will be.
ReplyDeleteThese costs of investigation are just just another profit stream of the American Justice Industry.
ReplyDeleteThe 3000 hours for Smollet may have been more about an opportunity to tarnish MAGA than about the "victim". Think about how much time was spent on the Russian collusion hoax that they knew was false.
