Matt Gaetz in a white-knuckle demonstration of hardball-politics appears irresistible to Ilhan Omar.
Many adjectives can used to describe US Representative Gaetz. "Attractive to Progressives" is not one of them. And yet here we see Representative Omar eyeing Gaetz as if he were a prime cut of filet mignon.
For those who don't follow US politics, Representative Ilhan Omar is one of the five most "liberal" of the 435 US representatives. Politically, she presents herself as the polar opposite of the person Gaetz presents himself to be.
Two interpretations present themselves:
- Representative Omar is excited by the apparent chaos Gaetz injected into the GOP's hold on power in the lower house of Congress -or-
- Representative Omar is not motivated by progressive ideals but by the acquisition of raw power.
You decide.
The later I'm sure. Same as them all. --ken
ReplyDeleteMost women are drawn to power. It's instinctive - this person is strong, so I shall attach myself to them. That said, the good ones realize the inclination and don't let it rule them.
ReplyDeleteOmar is run by Estrogen. That means she is less rational and more emotional. Here she's allowing her hormones to drive the bus. Some women can control their inherent emotions. Most cannot.
ReplyDeleteERJ, this sort of thing is the equivalent of blood sport in the Roman Empire, except in political terms only. Otherwise self-controlled people become completely not themselves in the excitement.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this whole thing has reminded me how little respect I have for anyone in power now.

I don't think she was looking at him at all.
ReplyDeleteThinking about the chaos, perhaps.
Or her next hamburger more likely.
You all be safe and God bless.
Ilhan Omar is a curse on this nation. She is a traitor, a liar, a philandering scourge on our values. I won't type what I hope happens to her, as I have too much respect for our host.

ReplyDeleteC: all of the above.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who thinks Omar looks like "Bride of Blackula?..."
ReplyDeleteI desire not to fathom the cleverness of the wicked.
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like she is concentrating really hard to avoid a shart.
