The patient pulled through the first operation just fine. An hour was allocated for the procedure and the surgeon knocked it out in 39 minutes. He does not screw around when the patient is over eighty.
The surgeon was very pleased to find that all organs were neatly identified with a sharpy pen and color coded duct tape. There were also extra sutures were zip-tied near the point-of-use just in case he ran out. But that is the kind of guy the patient is.
A second operation is scheduled for tomorrow as there were stones in the bile duct. They are going to do an endoscopy procedure. They will be going through the top endo rather than the bottom endo. The patient asked that they use a vanilla icecream flavored probe.
