Civics lessons

Kubota is taking Civics this trimester.  He has a big test on Monday and I am helping him study.

I learned two things today.

Aristocracy

The literal, Greek translation of aristocracy is "Rule by the Best".  Meritocracy or Technocracy are near equivalents.

The original incarnation of aristocracy did not include inherited privilege.  Just like democracy was before Adams, Kennedy, Clinton, Bush, Daly, etc.

Authoritarianism

I also learned that "Authoritarianism" is a government where citizens are expected to obey laws and rules.
