The remnants of Beryl went through our area July 10 and dropped 3.5 inches.
Six days later we picked up another significant rainfall.
How bad are the mosquitoes? I went outside to do my dead-lifts yesterday and after inhaling I had to spit out two mosquitoes.
Zeus brings in hitchhikers every time he comes back into the house after doing his business.
I went for a walk yesterday and turned back after 300 yards. Zeus stirred them up since he insisted on walking ahead of me. The bloodsuckers settled on me as I walked in the drag position. No wind is a bad thing.
The next three days are expected to be sunny but with very little breeze.
I hates me them mosquitos. Hang in there sir.
ReplyDeleteIronically, living in the RGV of south Texas, Beryl just skirted us at the last minute. Hardly any rain. But since then, we've been more rainy than usual, welcome break from the heat.
For the few strays that make it into the house we deploy the Boundry Bug Zapper. Bought it for Boy Scout Camping. Charges via usb. Has a light which is handy in a power outage. I now own four of them. Stored in home, camper (2) and bug out cargo trailer. Batteries and Bulbs store sells a solar powered larger version. One in the garden (tiki style) and one by the fire pit (table top). My favorite is to set up a wet vac next to my chair when taking a break outside. They hover under the chair and take turns making a run at me. Sweaty so I attract quite a few. I switch on the vaccum and wave the hose under the chair. Pretty much eliminates the mosquitoes for an hour until I attract the neighbor's mosquitos. Then I repeat. Rascals!
