Richard-tease

 

There was a term for a certain-kind-of-girl in my youth. Locally it was something like "Richard-tease" but in other parts of the world it was something like "Rooster-tease".

Her mode-of-operation was to find some guy(s) who was(were) desperate for physical affection. She would offer and expose and promise and let him get close, oh, ever-so-close.

And then she would jerk it away.

Again and again and again and again.

The rube(s) were driven to the point of insanity. And then past that point.

It is similar to using a dog's "ball-drive" as a reward in training. Stuff some peanut butter in the Kong. Tie a rope to it. Let him mouth it and wrestle against the rope and get excited. Then yank it way from him and put it on a high shelf where he could not reach it...but can still see and smell it. The dog will sell-his-soul to get that Kong.

Yeah, just like training Fido using "ball-drive". Amazing parallels in the language, no?

I watch the quarterly made-for-TV drama of progressives promising to "...cancel student debt..." and cannot help but think, "She is a Richard-tease and she is doing it now". She knows it. I know it. Every man over the age of 35 knows it. And still the rubes loose their minds.

If student debt was ever going to be cancelled it would have happened by now. It is pure kabuki theater.

It begs the question "What do the progressives intend to do with their inflamed-past-the-point-of-insanity 25-through-35 year-old Fidos?" If those intentions were good, noble and worthy they would not need to resort to such dehumanizing means.

Lucy has a very high need for control and is just plain mean. She cannot stand to see other succeed and actively sabotages them. She is the archetype progressive

 But for the time, it is sufficient for us to properly label the progressives as Richard-teases. Promise. Promise some more. Let the loyal pooch get within millimeters of achieving his goal and then yank it out of his reach. That is how the Richard-tease is wired. She cannot help herself.

Words can be powerful. Lets use them. Progressives are Richard-teases...or something like that.

They lose their power after they are properly identified. The rubes realize that the Richard-tease will never consummate the rubes' desires. It is a game to the Richard-tease, a trifling with affections.
