The Shekel recently posted that the authors of an article in the New England Journal of Medicine put their thumb-on-the-scales to make deaths-by-firearms appear even worse than it is. He claimed that including 18 and 19 year olds in the data skewed the results.

The death-rate by firearms (less intentional self-harm) per 100,000 is nearly eight times higher for 18 and 19 year-olds (15.4) than it is for 14 year-olds (2.1). That will certainly skew the results.
The death-rate by firearms (less intentional self-harm) for 18 and 19 year-old African-Americans is 15 times higher than it is for White-not Hispanic 18 and 19 year-olds.
If Black Lives actually Matter, maybe we should address cultural issues rather than hardware. Just saying, you won't find your car keys if you don't look for them where you dropped them. It doesn't matter how much better the light is in the other place.
But...but...but...That would be WAAAACIST to do! Much better to disarm the law-abiding....

ReplyDeleteThe entirety of the Coof narrative exposed it utterly. Most of the population is unwilling or incapable of critical thought... nobody in their right mind couldn't have seen the conflicting facts and narrative. You had to want to believe it, in order to believe it.
Yes, the lack of critical thinking is astounding. But I think there is something else here. I have a friend and a family member who got the clot shot. After extensive reading of medical literature suggesting that strokes, heart attacks, reproductive problems would occur, my friend and family member both got the double clot shot. One even got boosted. These are not stupid people! What they are is "Goody two shoes." Teachers pet, or more clearly, people who place more emphasis on what other people think , and getting along than on independent thought and action. To shorten it to one word . . . Sheep.

To them, the ends justify the means...
