One way we can help the hoplophobes that we live and work amongst is to educate them regarding proper terminology.
Or, if they have given evidence of being "a little slow", then we can provide them with simplified terms that are more technically correct than "that black, wiggly, thingy". The familiar is comfortable, comfort banishes fear.
