Scarab Beetle Sighting

Hey!  What is this?

Dang!  Look at her go.  Her boyfriend was buzzing around with the grace and stealth of a bumblebee.

Scatological analysis indicates wild canine, feral feline or possumoid or procyon origin.  She was struggling with the tapered log.  It wanted to roll in big, lazy circles.  She wanted to get it off the crown of the gravel road and plant it, with a few eggs, in a fertile patch of soil.

I failed, as a photographer, to catch the shimmering, metallic glitter of this beetle.  She is about the size of a nickel.
How can one doubt the existence of God.  Who else can take shit and turn it into gold?

This is the first time in my life that I have ever seen one of these beetles.  This beetle was sighted on the cool-down portion of a long run.  She was about a quarter mile from my home.
