  1. Overdosing on acetaminophen is a nasty way to die.

  3. My gut feel is that many "accidental" poisonings are suicide attempts where the user had second-thought or regrets. Due to the amount of time it takes for acetaminophen to act (kills the liver...maybe two weeks of lag time), there are probably a greater number of people who change their minds.

Modern, assisted suicide is much more efficient and there is not much lag-time between start and end.

How does the medical practitioner ensure that their "patient" really, really, really wants to end it all?

Even counseling is not a great option. There were a couple of cases in Canada where the counselors saw their charter as "selling" suicide and not helping the "patient" discern what was best for them.

Suicide is the ending of all other options.

  4. Okay, I just saw you put Austria down as accepting passive assisted dying. I have never heard of anything that fits to that. There is discussion about it, but I have not heard of any decisions. The Church will block it.
