I have found the various "frequency" sounds-songs-synth to be good for drifting off (search 432hz on oy!tube). If you have headphones, try one of the hemi-sync ones from The Monroe Institute. Its a bit of a rabbit hole, too, so if you still can't sleep you can take a trip down to the bottom and read about it all night long!
For many years we have used Enya's albums for quiet relaxing. More recently I discovered the 'Liquid Mind' series of albums https://www.youtube.com/@LiquidMindOfficial On the edge of 'white noise' are various 'sounds of nature' recordings - waves on beach, waterfall, rain, forest sounds, etc.
Here is a live album from Loreena McKennitt, if you don't know her, she has put out a lot of music over the years. This may be exactly what you are looking for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8HNFJs6gWI&t=587s

ReplyDeleteHildegard von Bingen brings me calm and peace in the dark of the very ealy morning. '11000 Virgins' and 'The Origin of Fire' are favorites.
