My oldest granddaughter asked me why men weren't interested in asking her out while she was in college. I asked her what she thought and she told me that it was because her size (she's not fat, but just shy of six foot and rather muscular). I told her to remove the septum ring, go down to a single earring per ear, wash out that ugly blue dye from her pretty natural blonde hair and let it grow out well past her shoulders. She was unsure, but did what I recommended, and had a boyfriend in a few months. "Why did those changes help, Pawpa?" "Honey, the short unnatural hair and extra piercings signaled that you were way out on the crazy side. It's like a rattlesnake's rattle or a wasp's yellow and black, warning of poison and danger. Just don't get any tattoos and you'll be good!"
'like a rattlesnake's or a wasp's'.. Love this. Nature warns you : watch out this is poison. I wonder that a person is actually signaling you " I'm crazy", IE. 'Avoid me' or 'hey other crazies join me'?
Is that a booger in your nose? Or, are glad to see me... You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friends nose.... Just how many pounds of bacon come with that ?
Vet tech at a clinic that I do occasional relief work at is one of the most beautiful women I've seen in years, and is smart as a whip and more than competent... but has a nose ring (one side, not the septum, at least), and way too many tats... and from the posts I've seen her make on FB... she would not be on the menu for me if I were 20-30 years younger and on the hunt. Too much crazy to run the risk, in spite of the enticements.
Nose rings are for cattle so if she wants to be a cow, so be it. I don't date cows though.
ReplyDeleteThe risk of venturing outside of your echo-chamber, comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteThose rings are so ugly.
ReplyDeleteShe can take out the hog ring but there’s no going back from those stupid ugly tattoos.
DeleteMen do not so much hate it as use it as a clear warning sign that she's on the crazy side of the hot/crazy matrix. Men then proceed accordingly.
ReplyDeleteShe cleaned up real nice once she decided not to have Cow Face.
ReplyDeleteNow, she can feel free to work on her personality!
I look at nose rings as the place to hook the jumper cables to jump-start the brain. With a few earrings, you don't have to find a good ground.
ReplyDeleteSome types are perfect for a 9 volt battery.

Tats alone are a HUGE red flag. Hog ring proves it.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a homely woman improved by ink.
ReplyDeleteI sure have seen a lot of beautiful women uglied up by tattoos

Trendy and edgy is not good. Normal is good.
