Fine Art THURSDAY

Willow sculpture can be divided into "wicker" and "living".

Wicker sculpture lasts for a few years outdoors. It will be gone before you are tired of it.

Living willow sculpture can last for fifty years if you maintain it...but it does require some labor.

Neither of these media are exceptionally expensive, as art goes.

  1. Awesome. Seen some of this in NH. Willow is amazingly cold hardy.

  2. Just gorgeous. The thing that strikes me about artistic expression is, regardless of medium, culture, or time it would seem, we humans have wanted to express something above and beyond what our 5 senses capture... It's not that art reproduces reality, it expresses the portions of it that are hidden from normal people.
