...Better than Brand New

"This truck is better than brand-new. I found all of the weak, factory parts and replaced them with better-than-OEM parts. This truck is just barely broken in.

This truck was my baby and I am looking for somebody who will treat it as gently as I treated it."

New Battery, starter, radiator, water pump, only 40k miles on the trans cooler lines. All new U joints and center support bearing. All new engine mounts with transmission and rear end service 10k miles ago. New oil level tube and oil pan gasket. New knock sensor and all new gaskets. New cam and crank sensor. New plugs and wires. New alternator. All new brakes with new rotors in rear and rebuilt front end with Moog tie rods and ball joints. New speakers and new wheel hub on right side. New pig-tails for cam, crank and mass-air-flow sensors.

New fuel pump. New manifold gaskets and bolts. New headlamps and new front bumper with LED fog lamps.

Look at ALL of the parts he trashed!

Most worrisome (to me) are the front bumper and radiator. Engine mounts. Had to remove the oil pan (i.e. crack the motor open) and intake manifold. Secondarily are all of the sensor that had to be replaced. What the heck happened electrically?

  1. Wrecked into a rock in a river? Flood and debris damage?

  2. Depending on the age of the truck, the plastic of the pigtails could have gotten extremely brittle and then easily broken when the engine was cracked open.

  3. You will know in five minutes of inspection.
Don't even look at the truck.
    Look at his garage.

  4. Whatever it was, it wasn't good! And I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole!

  5. Lots of new parts, but are they all *good* parts, or are some of them defective/intermittent. Was he throwing parts at it trying to fix an intermittent problem? Did he? Do you have time to chase it down? Projects always seem to take longer than planned. Ask me how I know...

  6. What year, make, model? If it's old enough that folks know what breaks and superior aftermarket parts are available, this might be legit. "Look at his garage" is good advice, too.
