3.) Surrender early, and surrender often. However, if the topic of contention will make a significant difference in outcomes 20yrs down the road then dig in and argue it out. If in 20yrs the topic of the argument will seem foolish and trite, surrender to your partner on it.

At some point in an argument/fight you have to ask yourself "Do I want to be right or do I want to stay married?"
