Encourage one another and build one another up. Pray without ceasing. Test everything. Keep what is good. Avoid all evil. -1 Thess 5:11,17,21,22

To my readers in Florida...
I will be praying for you.
Most of you have been through this before. Be careful around downed power-lines. Stay hydrated and if you are working at clean-up, plan on a break every hour.
Thanks, Joe. I’m on the far side of the state from the projected impact but we should still get lots of rain and a big blow, hope all of the local trees that wanted to come down dropped a week ago. Looks like Tampa Bay is going to catch it but good.
Bay St. Louis was in the same quadrant of the storm as it appears Tampa Bay will be. Buildings on 100' bluffs had flooding. Brief but flood none the less. The waterways amplify the storm surge.
I'll add my prayers too. If your area is close to the water and you are at ground zero - please evacuate if you have the means and a place to do so. This storm is a monster and not to be trifled with.
Every single storm prediction has this one skipping off the yucatan, then straight to Tampa, and spiraling out into the Atlantic. When she takes a hard left and pummels NC again, will you believe they can control the weather?
Have a friend who got back yesterday from working the storm damage and it might have been Florida. But he's leaving on Friday for 3 weeks in North Carolina. He with a church group that does this. Prayers will keep on.

ReplyDeleteThe most recent track I saw showed the eye going just north of the bay. The storm surge would be huge and felt miles away from the coast.

ReplyDeleteThanks Joe. We're prepping here in NE FL. Looks like a wind and rain event for us. The folks I had to leave in NC are still struggling mightily.

Take Heed and Godspeed. I am seeing that the evacuation highways are already pretty busy. Please honor the evacuation orders and keep safe.

ReplyDeleteRight in the middle of the state here. Praying for the best, preparing for the worst.
