Encourage one another and build one another up. Pray without ceasing. Test everything. Keep what is good. Avoid all evil. -1 Thess 5:11,17,21,22

Why aren't protestors who glue their hands to the pavement charged with "Unlawful Imprisonment"?
So, why aren't the protestors who glue their hands to the pavement and cause traffic to stack-up charged with "Unlawful Imprisonment"? The occupants of the vehicles at the front of the line were detained without due-process.
Maybe because the Blue cities this happens in has prosecutors and mayors that are known to be supportive of such disruptive acts?
When we had a small Antifa gathering in my area supporting St Floyd of Fentanyl "I can't breathe" some out of towners tried to block the street.
They were swiftly corrected by locals and when Antifa tried to get the police to "arrest them for assault" our police laughed at them and said you were not Assaulted YET and walked away.
They can only play in the street IF the local Politics and Police ALLOW IT.
Across the pond, we have blatant two tier policing of such disruption. If yours is an 'approved by the establishment' protest then you get a free pass to do whatever you want, the police just stand and watch or even help. However, if yours is not 'approved' then out come the police in body armour and with batons to make sure that you get the establishment message that you have committed "wrong think" and need to be seriously re-educated.
Suppose you were handing off your child to your ex-girlfriend at a local shopping mall. You ex says something that makes you very angry and you park your vehicle behind her's so she cannot leave.
It is 90F outside, she is 10 miles from home. She is wearing high heels and has accepted custody of a toddler. And you made if physically impossible for her car to move more than 18".
"Unlawful Imprisonment", two counts (one for your ex and one for your toddler) are what you will be charged with.
Exactly WHAT is different between the ex-girlfriend situation and the people who glued themselves to the pavement? Maybe that they don't know the exact names of the people who they are going to imprison? Does that make their crime worse or less heinous?
The justice system doesn't equate blocking a road with personally detaining someone. That's why someone who causes a traffic jam (whether by accident or protest) doesn't get slapped with unlawful imprisonment. In both cases, the disruption ends when authorities redirect traffic.
The drivers stuck behind the protestors aren’t charged either, even though their presence contributes to the gridlock.
Because the law understands the difference between public obstruction and personal restraint.
I hate protestors that block traffic. I say throw the book at them. The BOOK. Not whatever narrow-minded charges one can imagine.
And what if.. Your protest blocking traffic caused the person in the ambulance to die of injuries that could have been dealt with at a hospital? Stop the nonsense.

Build a form around them. Back up the cement truck. Pour up to their stomach, leaving room to continue breathing. Let them enjoy the experience of being chipped out, sitting in their own waste, with traffic routed around them. In other words, lock them down in place for a long unpleasant experience, and remove the choice to leave.
I believe that the German authorities did something similar to a group of protesters - locked them into the building and just left them for a few days to cool off.
Just pass a law explicitly making the people who deliberately block traffic, by ANY method, responsible for all consequences including them being run over. All it takes is one or two being steamrolled and they will NEVER block traffic with their bodies again. Hold the vehicle drivers and owners explicitly unprosecutable.

Should be charged for the cleanup fees.
ReplyDeleteOnly works if the prosecutors, police and mayors support charging them and fining them for cleanup.
DeleteSoros spends his money well.

ReplyDeleteCordless grinder (Or a sawzall)
ReplyDeleteafter you cut the hand off of the first one or two, the disruptions will stop rapidly.
As others have said, this tactic only works if the local prosecutors allow it, or are told to allow it by their Soros backed paymasters
Is this a serious question or a joke

Cut the clothes off the people who glue themselves to the pavement and watch how fast that stunt disappears.
