Palate cleanser

The background music was very easy to listen to.

Large, young family in Russia Ukraine harvesting root vegetables. "Work must be organized!"

I used a link instead of an icon to pop you into the video because I want you to start at a certain place. The girl (maybe seven years-old) is SKIPPING as she works. You can go back to the beginning if you want or you can continue to watch from where I ported you in.

Turn on "Subtitles" (which will be in Russian). Then turn on auto-translate and select English.

Why, yes my child. We found you beneath a radish leaf.

  1. I see they like rutabagas there too. Easy to grow and harvest and store well in cool, dark place just like potatoes. ---ken

    1. I remember, as a kid, harvesting rutabagas with my grandmother, and storing them under the house in a bed of sand. I don't recall ever eating them until I was well into my 50s, visiting an aunt with my Mom. Love them now...peeled, cubed, boiled in a bit of chicken broth with a spoonful of brown sugar and a Tbsp of butter. Comfort food...

  2. "Why, yes my child. We found you beneath a radish leaf." made my day, thank you. Much easier than "The Talk".

  3. well the distribution of labor caused mild shivering and sweats for this old process engineer. Yeeeuch. A dozen or more half bushel baskets wouldacouldashoulda made that process flow more stable.
    they need some personnel management.
aaaand it shows lots of carbs readily available for men and their domestic animals.

    1. A busy "employee" is not a problem employee.

I think dad was more interested in keeping his kids busy and engaged than in getting maximum efficiency from each person in the crew. He was even getting (some) output from the toddler. He is raising a whole bunch of working-fools.
