The following is a transcript (auto translated) from one of the Ukrainian channels I am watching.
I made a video about watermelons and there were definitely, well, a fair amount of negative comments about me exploiting children and keeping them enslaved to work for me.
This is a completely stupid statement because in reality, as an adult it is much easier for me to work alone and get this job done than to coordinate the actions of a large group of children. And that is, what is their labor productivity?
I take them, firstly, it’s a joy to help work, to be together. That is, when a child is alone, he will not do anything (and be miserable), but when they are in a group, and they compete with each other, they study, they work, they try, for them, firstly, it is entertainment, and secondly for them, it is learning.
That is, everyone (in the family) takes them so that they learn to work, so that they develop harmoniously. Therefore I will mercilessly block people who write about the exploitation of children, because these are the most ridiculous fabrications, speculations, and are simply offensive.
I try to instill in children a love of work, to teach them so that they develop harmoniously, but people seem to insult me for this. That is to say, it is very stupid.
In one of his other videos, he mentioned that the steer they were slaughtering produced 200kg of meat. That looks optimistic to me since the animal in the pen looks like it weighs 800 pounds rather than 1250 pounds. It may be that he includes liver, heart, tripe, head-cheese and the bone-in in that weight. That 440 pounds was to be shared with 15 family members and it was expected to lasted 6 months. That works out to 2.5 ounces of meat per person per day.

Slavs don't eat a lot of beef, or red meat in general, nor do they have to. Hemochromatosis is widespread across the bloodlands. Animal fats are more valued in Slavic diets than meat.
ReplyDeleteI had to look up "Hemochromatosis", oh wow...
Delete**It is managed through regular phlebotomy (blood removal) or chelation therapy to prevent organ failure.**
When kids learn to work when they are little it sticks with them for life. When they don't learn when they are little they are worthless for life. That's just the way it is. ---ken
ReplyDeleteHow true, seems their is a proverb or 3 about that.
DeleteI do wonder if some can be salvaged from the woke virus.

There is a semi-famous blogger who is really into terriers. As a group of breeds, terriers are considered boneheaded and difficult to train. The blogger claims that hunger increases a dog's IQ by 50 points.
DeleteMy gut feel is that most WOKE people have never been hungry.
An interesting concept. I was about to post that old saying "Root hog or die" about work to eat.
DeleteHowever, terriers seldom decide to use mostly peaceful flaming bottles to protest that hunger issue.
I expect violence as it's been their MO now for almost a decade now? And it seems to get paid for or rewarded why stop now?

The whiners would have a heart attack if they saw what was 'normal' in the 1970s and earlier. I have fond memories of helping my grandfather clean the mud out of farmer's irrigation ditches west of Phoenix during the summers. Hot, and surprisingly humid for Arizona. Of course the best part was enjoying a root beer and a pickled egg while playing in the nearest bar after a long day.
ReplyDeleteLearning together is more effective on teaching skills you want the subject to retain longer. Strangers vs. family - no contest. A memory made with your family while working is far stronger. Farm Kids were proud to be able to help and contribute to their family food, and when those kids were given more responsibility, their self worth was rewarded. I NOW CAN DRIVE THE TRACTOR WHILE OTHERS LOAD IT UP FROM SIDES. I'M A GROWN-UP !!
