ERJ, for the first time in ever, the thought "Better then Sultan's turban than the Pope's tiara" from the fall of Constantinople came into my head today. I am giving this more thought - I need to re-learn my Byzantine and Crusading history more and likely a post will come out of it - but I am almost to the point of abandoning the U.S. to God's judgement and living with consequences.
