Fine Art Tuesday

Pablo Picasso born in Spain in 1881, died in 1973.

To paraphrase H.L. Mencken: "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of those who inherited wealth."

  1. I imagine he was giggling while working on those canvases, wondering how far he could push things and still have his output called 'art'...... Nothing shows special skill or care in the images above...

    1. Maybe he was hallucinating. Magic mushrooms? Ergot from rye?

    2. My thoughts also. I just thought his art was weird, but now I’m thinking drugs….

  3. His early work looked far more normal. He didn’t descend into the Neo-Cubist relativism until his worldview descended into something akin to relativism or nihilism. Funny how culture and art are downstream of philosophy.
