Mamdani to Hochul "Unless you dance to the tune I am calling, I shall be forced to raise the property taxes in NYC"

His bit of theater reminded me of this clip from Blazing Saddles.

What kind of threat is "...I shall be forced to raise the property taxes"?

Whose political career will that torpedo?

  1. I don't think it will matter, the people in New York will continue to vote against their best interests. Funny movie , Blazing Saddles.

    1. Please rewrite your comment Dan. I have no clue what you said.
Meanwhile the Mamdani voters are learning what TANSTAAFL means.

Seems they are getting what they voted for.

Before you cheer, remember unless we can get voter ID they will be doing this sort of thing across our Republic.

  3. Doesn't the City Council need to make that change? I doubt a mayor can change tax rates via executive order.

    1. The City CFO and the Head of City Counsel have some degree of influence. The press hasn't bothered to tell us how much, just that they have some involvement.

You're going to see this playing out all over the nation. Every large city is a huge suck on resources of every kind. The fake money has run out (thats why inflation). Its simple math, and they're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Rock wins. Rock always wins.
